Casino Tip – Play It Safe With Roulette

Roulette TipsOnline roulette is always a whole ton of fun! Aside from slots, it’s probably the casino game that provides the most spectacle out of all of them! There’s nothing quite like that intense feeling of build-up and anticipation after you’ve placed your bets and you watch the wheel spin, waiting for the ball to land as it gradually slows down to a crawl, jumping a few numbers and finally settling into its little pocket, proudly declaring the winners and losers of that spin. It’s a huge adrenaline rush that lasts for a few seconds, but can easily get you high on the excitement! I think that’s the main reason why roulette has lasted through the generations. From the French revolution to the modern real money roulette found here, people from all walks of life throughout the ages have uttered the phrase “just one more spin”. Hell, if you’re reading this, chances are you’ve got a pretty healthy interest in roulette yourself! But what if I told you that you may not have played it right?

Now, this is directed more towards the casual fans, the people who don’t play roulette all that often, since it’s mostly based on my observations from physical casinos and live casinos. If you’re the type of person who reads books about roulette religiously, then you’re probably not going to find much here. But something that I’ve noticed a lot of newcomers do, which is generally a terrible way to play, is what I like to call the “Lucky Number” strategy. Basically, the player will pick a lucky number (say, 17) and bet on that and just on that alone, thinking that it’s bound to come up sooner or later. The problem is, that doesn’t work. Generally, when playing roulette, betting on a number is kind of like buying a lottery ticket – it’s nice if you win, but you probably shouldn’t count on it. You know what happens to the people who obsessively buy lottery tickets, right? And besides, the roulette ball has no memory! It could land on 15 ten times, or it could concurrently land on 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. The odds are pretty much equal. Thinking that if you bet on a number enough time it’s bound to come up eventually is exactly like thinking that if you let a monkey in front of a typewriter it’s bound to write Shakespeare eventually. Sure, it’ll happen, but can you really afford to wait that long?

Instead, what you should do is play it safe. Bet on a color! Bet on odd or even! If you’re feeling a bit more adventurous, you can also bet on a group of numbers as opposed to just one number. Sure, the payout isn’t nearly as big, but why does it matter how big the payout Is if your chances of getting it are pretty low? So unless you want to go for one, single spin just for the hell of it, forget about your lucky number and start playing it safe! That’s how you build up your winnings over time, not by getting lucky once.
